Marina Meijer was born in Amsterdam in 1966. She is an expert in the field of education in the United States. She was internationally active from the beginning of her studies. While studying law in Groningen she became a board member of the Europa Dispuut, made study trips to Eastern Europe and Russia, and completed internships in Washington DC. During her dual graduate degrees in Governance Science and Middle East Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, she organized several meetings for international students. She also completed an internship in Korea.
Marina has worked for several US educational programs and lobbied on Capital Hill on behalf of a US advocacy group for the internationalization of American education. She also worked as a student advisor for the US government at EducationUSA in Tunisia and ran American scholarship programs for talented students in North Africa. She sat on the Dutch selection committee for Fulbright scholarships.
Marina worked for 13 years as a senior policy advisor at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. She represented the Dutch government on diverse themes within commercial, general technology and IT policy for EU bodies, OECD and other international organizations.
Since 2005 she has been the director and academic advisor for UStudy – a Dutch educational consultancy for the US. UStudy has an excellent reputation within Europe and America for the preparation and placement of international students at US educational institutions, ranging from top community colleges and prep schools to elite universities such as Harvard and Columbia Universities.

Saskia Torn Broers was born in Lochem in 1965. She is a professional in the education sector. Her studies at the Academy of Physical Education (Tilburg), Training and Development (educational design, corporate trainer-coach, Nijmegen) and Master of Education (talent development and excellence, Zwolle) provide the backbone for dealing with various educational issues, with both feet firmly rooted in the practical side of operations.
She has worked for educational institutions such as MBO (MTS Utrecht), MBO (PW, MMZ and Sport and Exercise, Doetinchem), National Development Group Sport and Exercise, OHRA commercial projects (company fitness Arnhem), KPN (company fitness Arnhem) and ALO (Nijmegen). Saskia graduated in Educational Design as an education expert.
Saskia has been the owner of Active Impulse since 1991. Her company organizes (sports) programs and is an expert in the field of coaching. Activities include an international internship to study to be a skating coach for the Dutch Skating Federation in Hamar, Norway, organizing and coaching adolescents including field hockey sub-top-athletes (national A team), ice skating (semi-professional team) and tri-athlete (national champion).

Kamal Assou was born in Delft in 1984. He is an educational adviser. He completed the Primary Education Teacher Training (PABO) program (The Hague University), studied Education Psychology, Critical Investigation; and Teach and Learn (Texas Christian University, Texas). His primary focus is on educational related issues across all levels of education, from introduction to implementation. With a particular specialisation on internationalisation strategic policy and quality assurance.
Educational institutions he has worked with include the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (Finance), Hogeschool Rotterdam (IBMS), De Haagse Hogeschool (PABO), Hanze Hogeschool Groningen (Finance, PABO), and Saxion Enschede (IBMS/IBL).
After a number of years working in education, Kamal Assou is now working with Pearson Academic Publisher in Amsterdam. His role there is as an educational consultant, and is focused largely on the implementation of study materials in combination with online learning solutions and custom publishing for curriculum revision. Kamal is a teacher/trainer responsible for managing strategic policy and quality assurance within school boards, and ‘Bookshelf’ as a platform for ebooks in collaboration with other educational publishers.
